OK – so it’s snowing again! But fear not - our friends at Sailor Jerry have shared a new winter cocktail with us: the Sailor’s Nightcap. Created by top Tiki bartender and all round rum fan: Alexx Mouzouris (who can currently be found bringing rum love to the masses at The Rum Kitchen in Notting Hill, London) the new steaming Sailor’s Nightcap will be sure to get us through these bitter winter months…
50ml Sailor Jerry
180ml semi skimmed milk
30ml Nui Nui syrup **
Note: You can purchase Sailor Jerry Spiced rum from a wide variety of outlets, including Master of Malt whom have a 70cl bottle for £18.52 (plus Postage and packaging)
** To make the spiced Nui Nui syrup:
Its simple: Heat some sugar syrup (it’s easy to make your own, or if you like to take things easier you can buy a brand like Monin at Master of Malt [70cl bottle for £6.59 + postage and packaging] or in your local supermarket) with generous pinches of ground cloves, allspice, nutmeg and cinnamon until steaming and then pass through a sieve until smooth.
Add 50ml of Sailor Jerry, 180ml of semi skimmed milk and 30ml of the Nui Nui syrup into a pan until it bubbles and serve in a mug. Garnish with a cinnamon stick to stir and dust with grated nutmeg and cinnamon for more spice.
