So following on from the Bajan Estate XO, we laid our eager mits on the Cana Negra Guatemalan Gran Reserva Rum.  But that’s far too much of a mouthful to keep writing, so I’ll be sticking with Gran Reserva (by the mouthful) for now.  

 

 

A tip off just before Christmas set TheFloatingRumShack.com in search of fine rum – and not just any old rum… This is M&S rum!  We were told that Marks and Spencer would be adding two new expressions to their spirits range: Bajan and Guatemalan rums.  The ‘informant’ also indicated that we’d probably be quite interested in the providence of these rums.

 

 

We recently got the nod from our friend Declan at Speciality Brands that one our all time favourite rum brands have launched their first global competition.  In fact it sounds so awesome, that I might submit an entry myself…

 

 

Trailer Happiness kicked off the New Year in a fine old style with their new format Rum Club and to me, “Why Trailer Loves Navy Rum” was always destined to be a winner.  A subject with as much history, interesting facts and tall stories as British Navy Rum, just can’t fail.  Couple that with a trio of connected brands in Smith & Cross, El Dorado and Pusser’s and we have (without doubt) one of the best ever rum clubs we’ve attended!

 

This coming Monday (7th Jan) Rum Club Season kicks off once more and for those who can get into London then the future is bright.  Trailer Happiness start things off with “Why Trailer Loves Navy Rums” and whilst we don’t have any proper schedule yet – RUMblin’ is a certainty for more of the winning formula we loved last year.  Rumours abound that The Rum Kitchen will be coming up with a regular format gathering that will interest the rummies as well…
